Best Loop Knot Ever? 'The Non-Slip Loop Knot'

It's loop knot time!

This short knot video shows my favorite loop knot to use when fishing with lures. Loop knots are very helpful for getting more strikes since they enable lures to have more freedom of motion in the water which most often makes it look more realistic to predator fish.

On top of being a strong loop knot, this particular one has an added advantage over the others because it leaves the tag end pointed back towards the lure. This helps minimize the amount of floating grass and other debris that can get snagged on the line while retrieving the lure.

We'll be conducting another knot contest with loop knots, so please make sure to let us know what your favorite loop knot is so that we can make sure to include it in the contest.

I've used that knot for decades. It's awesome. But I suggest more like 4 or 5 wraps than 2. It definitely gives lures more action and I don't remember it ever failing. The line leader line knot or the main line will break before that knot fails, especially if you use heavier leader than main line. I always tie on a leader to use with braid because of visibility and with light mono to protect from teeth in the saltwater.

I’m thinking about starting fishing and I’ve been reaserching many ways to tie a lure to a line and this is by far one of the easiest to understand. Thanks😊

Wonderful viewpoint, camera angle, detailed instruction, and simplicity. It took me a while to learn this knot back in the day due to instruction. You did great!

It also helps add action to crankbaits, poppers, topwater walking baits, glide baits, twitch baits, and jerkbaits including flukes without split rings.

i been using that loop knot for years. very quick to tie and one where you dont need to wrap four or five times to achieve the same strong knot.

My favorite knot is one of the earliest knots known called the granny knot, over the years I have perfected this knot and can tie it with little to no effort...lol

Nice! And if your drag is set accordingly, that knot is plenty strong.

Great information. I use this knot sometimes, but usually tie the Canoe Man Loop. Not sure about strength comparison. I’ve never had a problem with the Canoe, it’s very simple and uses very little amount of tippet. Thanks for the video. 👍👍🎣

After running tag end through the eye, just do 3 or 4 under hand knots back through the main loop. Works the same. Once you pull it tight the tag end should sit at a 90 degree angle to knot itself. That’s how you’ll know if you did it right

I make two loops, seems to give me more confidence because these knots will get weaker sooner than others bc it’s not cinched to the actual bait.
