Rory's reviews are always on point. I really appreciate his insight. He focuses on the things that everyday drivers care about.

As a 2015 BMW i3 driver, I can confirm the drum brakes idea is great. Need to replace my rear brake discs soon as they are completely covered in rust.

The curb weight of the car is 2050 kg, the weight you are listing(2660 kg) is the GCVWR which includes the payload(611 kg).

Rory, our little escape from depression.

This is the first review of the ID4 that mentioned things that matter (would annoy) to me. The little things that I would need to discover on my own and that I might not notice until after my purchase. Thanks

He seems to be a very thorough reviewer that reviews how a car will affect real life (disability, the kid-friendliness, etc). THESE are the things I want to know, not how fast it goes 0-60.

We got an ID4 6 weeks ago. I agree that the SW needs improvements and hopefully VW will be pushing out an over the air update soon, however the ride is extremely smooth & quite, not at all “Giggely” and adaptive cruise control brings cat to a complete stop which is great in traffic.

Interesting to see VW cutting corners and cost saving whilst Skoda push upmarket... they’re a bit too close now

The quality of these reviews are just astounding. The cinematography makes television shows look last decade. Love the 21:9 segments. If anything you could do the entire channel in 21:9.

VW’s engineering devision “look at this great family car that ticks all the boxes and in a real world situation has great range.”

VW’s software group *sad computer noises*

The rear brakes is 100% true. I work for an OEM and used to be in the chassis brakes dept. It was a big discussion point with regen electric braking. Not sure why Rory reacted that way making it seem like VW are trying to be sneaky about something.

Had me in stitches when you said “it’s time to release hell” and you drive of like a milk float 😂😂😂

£40k, thats madness.
Your average person in the uk earns £32000 a year and that is before tax!

Coming from a climate where we dump salt on the road 6+ months of the year the sealed rear drums are brilliant. Why spend more maintaining a more expensive setup that is not required.

I mean ideally you want to recover as much energy through regenerative braking as possible, meaning your mechanical braking should be as minimized as possible so you soak up more of your momentum as electrical engergy. The mechanical brakes are mostly there as a backup for when you REALLY need to brake hard so wasting resources on that seems highly redundant.

I have driven the ID3 1st and ID4 1st and had zero problems with voice control. Top cars but i would go with the ID4 Business model

2:19 that's actually true, my dad has a Kia soul EV and his rear brakes are always a little rusty.
