Interior noise is still much better (lower) compared to Tesla Model Y. I think ID.4 is really worth buying now

I find the id4 to be the nicest in terms of seating space and position. I like how the rear bench is so high so the kids can see forwards and not get carsick.

5:41 Actually you can hold the “REAR” button for 2secs until it flashes. When in this mode driver window up/down does all windows.

❤ your review. I am currently trying the Polestar 2. Cause I dislike Tesla

I would definitely stay away from the base version with the small battery given it still has the old underpowered motor and sluggish infotainment system.

I'm a new ID.4 Pro S owner. I'm really enjoying it. Agree with all the positive comments shared by others. I really like the new infotainment system. Takes time to learn, but what's the hurry? My little gripes are different. $57, 000 sticker car with no garage door opener and no 360 degree camera? But that's VW/Audi for you! Oh, you can get the 360 camera in the ID.4 Pro S Plus model. The problem? It's not on the website and they don't seem to have any for sale...if they even exist. C'mon VW/Audi...it's time to stop being so cheap. These are no-brainers.

I'm about a year in on my 2023 Pro S lease, and I'm still really enjoying it. The infotainment system does need additional improvements but if youre an Android Auto user it doesn't matter all that much. I'd definitely recommend the Pro S version though for the range - I get about 200 miles on an 80% charge, and 100% charge at 250-270 miles, which has been plenty when I have to commute (rarely, thankfully). If there arent major battery improvements by the time my lease is up in 2026, Ill likely buy out the rest and keep it.

I'm impressed by the improvements they made. Does it have heads up display?

I'm also really amused that people are so annoyed by not having 4 window switches. In the grand scheme of things, it's such a non-issue. When do you ever need to put down all four windows at the same time? And how often do you go to lower your front driver window and end up lowering the back window instead by mistake?

At Electrify America a VW id4 owner came over to my Hyundai ioniq 6 to praise how good it looks. I thanked him. We talked for a few mins about charging experiences. Seemed to love his id4. He wants the EV Hellcat next 😅 I’m getting a Rivian if they’re still a company

I honestly can't understand the fuzz about the rear window switches - all the reviewers seem to have an itch over those. I don't remember the last time I needed to operate the rear windows as the driver. If the windows need to be opened or shut it is because for someone in the rear seat - and he/she can quite well operate the windows by him/herself.
And BTW no one seems to mention that if you push the selector longer then you can operate all the windows simultaneously - not that I find that particularly important either.

While I don’t think one should be hyper focused on EV range, my exactly 1 year old Model 3 RWD range has dropped from 273 to 263 miles. Range loss is supposed to slow over time, but I wish there was closer to 300 miles for a feeling of greater range cushion. So be careful when you hear these ranges as they are going to decline before long. (I very rarely supercharge.)

No mention of the piano black plastic or anything else on the interior?

Thanks for the updated review on the 2024's. You are the first person I've ever heard complain of the noise in an ID.4. Which EV's do you find to be quieter inside?

2025 needs to have NACS.
Proper window switches.
Get rid of those touch capacitive sliders.
The odd column button.
How about a fold flat 2nd row.
Needs pricing tweaks.

i'm thinking of buying the id4 pro s . should i wait for the 25 model in hopes the range is improved?

You didn't talk about the annoying turn signal noise! That, along with the EXTREMELY confusing trim levels that seemed to prioritize nickel-and-diming you for small upgrades (such as power seats). These two things turned me off of the ID.4 and I ended up going with the Kona electric Limited. I don't get the tax credit, but I also don't want to break my car because of the incessant *click-click* of the turn signal.

I still love the styling of the ID4. Probably would be great on a road trip. Windows phone, then you lift one up into view? bruh!. I was a huge fan back in the day. All the best

If only VW would upgrade the software of earlier cars as they indicated they would when new.

That was a very interesting way to buckle up your seat belt at around the 6-minute mark. Does the car recognize that as the driver having his seat belt buckled?

The ID4 is now a really good package. When the ID2 is launched VW will become a force again.
