Wetsuits are called WET suits because they keep a thin layer of WATER warm by slowing the exchange rate. Surfers often pre-wet their wetsuits with warm water so the initial flush of water isn't cold water. This title is dangerously misleading. Wet suits don't work unless they are WET.
