My mom recently came to visit us in Dasà, Calabria, for the first time. Since I was showing her around anyway, I decided it was a good time to take you guys behind the scenes and show you what a day in the life is like here. Eva and I are heading back "home" to the States soon, but I think this video shows why Dasà feels like the real home to me now.

What a beautiful video!! Beyond the amazing food, breathtaking sights and a unified family gathering what truly stood out was Catherina (10 years old) detailing with such eloquence the cultural beauty of a small town! Wow, that was impressive!! Listening to a young lady have love and appreciation for where she lives was refreshing. At such a young age she knows that her culture defines her and embraces it. This reminded me so much of growing up in Pinerolo in Piemonte! I now live in Cape Town but still have fond memories of those leisurely lunches that lasted all afternoon!
