Growing up in GA everyone has a southern accent except for this one kid from Maine we would all try to teach him how to do it but he just sounded British. Bless his heart

My husband told me he could only hear my southern accent when I got upset ( not the actual word) so I told him if he doesn't want to hear it just behave himself. Bless his little heart

I don't know why but I've always loved Southern U.S accents, it's like music to my ears. I don't understand the hate it gets sometimes. I'm in England, U.K btw. If I ever get the chance to visit the states then the south is where I'd be headed to first!

I'm originally from northern NY (pretty much Canada). I've lived in the South for the last 15 years and when I first got here, I stuck out like a sore thumb because of my accent. Yesterday when my neighbor found out my shady beginnings, he told me I would never be able to go back to the Northeast because I've got the wrong accent now. He told me I was a southerner, for better or worse. One of the proudest moments of my life. ❤

I've lived in the South so long that when I visited a friend in Michigan, I asked for unsweet tea. The waitress looked at me like I had three heads and asked what other kind of tea was there? 😜

Picture this. I’m a 5’ 7” asian dude with jet black crew cut I worked as a tour guide and we’d get people from all over the country and world come by our way. As soon as everyone gets there and the room fills up I usually hit them with the “well good morning. How are y’all doing today?” But In the one of the thickest drawl you’d ever hear. Everyone is taken aback by this every time. Now English might be my third language but I’ve grown up in the south since I was about 10 and I can switch it on and off sometimes. My roommates in college didn’t get to hear it come out until a semester in.
