My main panel is 200amp capacity. I see 100amp there for house supply and 35 amp possibly for a/c..i wanted to install a nema 14-50 in my subpanel inside the garage because my main one is opposite the garage (weird location). Can i change my 100amp to 125amp in the main panel to accomodate my Nema 14-50? Is the current cable sufficient?

I give up, almost everything stated in here was wrong. A 60 amp circuit, when utilizing 75 deg C terminations and wire, can be a#8 copper

83% rule allows smaller wire gauge for ampacity of 83% of main breaker size so, 150amp breaker would require #1 NOT 1/0 this is only for residential applications 100amp - 400amp service
