And this is why they make you practice good embouchure and posture while learning to play instruments.
I play 4 instruments my cheeks never do this, my instructors would have had a fit, and did when they saw it happen, sometimes people got banished to a triangle or cow bell if students couldn't get it right!

I played Jazz when I was in high school, and we had a jazz clinic where a professional trumpet player came to the school and talked about technique. Then he showed us how his neck would inflate when he played. You could say he had a frog in his throat

There’s proper technique for using instruments that will prevent both of those diseases. In essence, you just keep your cheeks relatively firm.

Is this formed due to improper form or something? I'm not a glass blower, but I do play the clarinet, and I've never seen anybody's cheeks puff like that; not to this degree, at least.

Puffing your cheeks is a big no-no in the musical world, and I've always attributed slight puffing of the cheeks to loss of skin elasticity due to age.

Oh my fking sht. I have been struggling for a year and 6 months with this feeling in my throat. I thought it was cancer I got checked nope. But it bulges out and air comes out, mucus too. This is what it is!!! I looked it up and it's exactly what I feel. I can't believe I found this scrolling through shorts, seriously. I am shocked and relieved.
