Paul Karason shocked the world when he went on national television and revealed his blue skin. In 2008, Inside Edition met Karason, who explained he turned blue when he began rubbing silver over his body to cure his flaky skin. Doctors told Karason they could not help him and he lived the rest of his days with blue skin, but he said he had no regrets. Inside Edition caught up with Karason and his new girlfriend in 2012. The following year, he passed away aged 62. #InsideEdition

I don't know how to say this, but despite going through tough times and rejection for his new skin tone, he persevered and manage to still amaze the world despite such circumstances. What an inspiration he was.

He actually looked kind of cool. His eyes were the same color. But I realize it was difficult being treated differently. Poor guy. Hope he’s doing well on the other side ❤ RIP

I love how he put the blue shirt on to compliment his skin. It really brought it out huh 🤔 I felt unbelievably sad for this man when I ever first heard of him. I hope he’s at peace now

Paul Karason made the mistake of adding common table salt sodium chloride) to his distilled water as a catalyst to speed the production time of his homemade silver solutions.
Paul was unaware that salt or other additives should never be incorporated into the
"electrolysis" process when creating a proper silver solution.

While adding salt reduced Paul's production time, it actually created a completely different silver compound called silver chloride. This compound has been shown to cause a skin discoloration condition called
"Argyria." Silver chloride is by no means pure ionic or colloidal silver.
No cases of Argyria have ever been linked to properly produced ionic or colloidal silver solutions.
