Life Before The iPhone

If you were born in the 2000’s the iPhone and it’s related technology has likely always been a part of your life. But it’s important to understand what things were like before the iPhone in order to truly appreciate how far we’ve come today. So before the iPhone was released in 2007 many industries looked a lot different than they do today. And you may be surprised to discover how products worked and how certain tasks were accomplished without the use of modern technology that the iPhone popularized. And I want to start with the multitouch display, which was perhaps the most influential feature of the original iPhone.

I was born in 1958 when color photographs, color TVs and movies in color still carried a Wow! factor. That was a few months after Sputnik was launched (look it up). My iPhone stuns me every day.

I still use a standalone camera at times. It's bridge camera and it has more features, as well as a ton of zoom for photography. Cameras on smartphones are really only for casual use, at least it is for me.

I was born in 2000 and when I was 7 (so in 2007) in France (because I’m french) I was playing LEGO in front of the TV and at this exact moment I saw the keynote in the news with only a few minutes off with Steve Jobs unlocking the first iPhone ! I was shocked when he scrolled because I remember I always wanted to do this on my dad’s computer screen ! I even remember the lock screen with anemones and clownfish !! And you know what ?? 2 years ago I was like « OH MY GOD !! Could I find the original keynote on YouTube ?? » and I actually find the exact moment I watched when I was 7 !!! That’s creasy ! Apple really changed my life forever !
