I feel like I’m done with all the “designers” at this moment. How many bags do we “need”? How many pairs of shoes to fill our closet will be “enough”? It’s like after getting one thing, we need to jump onto another… such a toxic state of mind to be in. “Never enough…”

I got mugged in Rome on NYE, and you know why, after a 5 minute struggle, the mugger gave up and left without any of my belongings? Because I was wearing a cross-body bag. God bless that tough lil Marc Jacobs sling bag. He couldn’t get it off me and it did not break or give way. He couldn’t even get his hand into it because of how it closes. So yes, I will be sticking with wearing my bag crossbody.

Crossbody forever😂! I live in a big city and travel a lot so it's a must for security

The idea of things coming in and out of style is 100% marketing. It’s a sales strategy and they are taking advantage of us. If you bought a birkin bag in the 80s, it would still be in style today. Jane Birkin who died last year carried the same Birkin bag for over 20 years. She decorated it, put stickers on it, etc. She was cool. She had style. If your great grandmother bought a Chanel suit in the 1920s, chances are she handed it down to your grandmother who handed it down to your mother and one day will be in your closet. Now that’s style. Will never go out of style. I own an opera length string of pearls. 60 inches. They are beautiful. I store them appropriately have them restrung every decade or so. They are from the early 1900s. That’s style. That will never go out of style. Old money buys timeless classics, and doesn’t feed into the trend economy.

If you live in a city or are vacationing in a city, a crossbody bag is essential. I hate shoulder bags, they throw off a woman's posture. Now a top handle bag will always be in fashion.

I agree with you. Following trends is always going to waste money. I’d say, if you like being trendy, only get what you need but something small. People can go into serious debt with trends 😊

Everything comes back around, so hold on to all of your luxury trends.❤ Also, wear what you love.

So funny, I just watched a video on trends that have died and the girl was talking about ballerina flats are out. I guess it really depends on what group you ask whether something is in or out. I think ballerina flats are timeless and classic.

Don't chase those so-called popular, choose a favorite, ability to accept, do what you like at the moment. You're the best

Hey Lou! I work for a marketing agency. We have a blog, and everyone in the team is responsible for one post a week. I decided to write about fashion and beauty marketing. Your videos always inspire me to write and I learn a lot from you, please keep doing these. I really like your content! Sending you a big hug from Brazil 🖤

As a toddler mom, I need my hands free! Cross-body or nada for me atm. Also, maybe my shoulders are shaped weird, but shoulder bags keep sliding off of my shoulders and I have to keep fixing it like a bazillion times.

Trends come and go, personal style is forever!! I’m guilty as charged for so many of the trends that are no longer as popular but I still wear them so much😂😂😂. Love this video! I buy what I love ❤

I happen to think crossbody bas will always be the best thing, especially in winter when it's much too cold to hold bag with your hands, or worry about it getting out of your car. It's literally the most sensible bag.

I sold off my designer bag and shoe collection. I am not a minimalist but I am done with overconsumption at this stage of my life in my 40s.
When it comes to bag I prefer quality fabrics and local designers.

I definitely grew out of Chanel, Dior and Hermes fashion jewellery a long time ago and at the time I was so excited to purchase them

I own Chanel, LV, Celine, and Dior from my purchases of the past. I’ve stopped buying them because prices are insane and quality has not been as good. I’m into vintage Coach and vintage leather bags without a big brand. They are way better quality in my opinion and make me happier.

To my surprise I’ve found myself into the silver bags lately, I don’t know what it is. Definitely wouldn’t get something super sleek, patent and shiny, but I may find myself with a muted silver bag 👀

I’m also definitely one that always prefers a crossbody. Every activity I do is easier to throw the bag around me than holding it. The only other bag I use are totes that go on the shoulder, and this is for shopping or going to the park for instance, needing to carry lots of things. Because most of my purses aren’t that big to carry things inside other than the basics like wallet, phone, keys, lipstick.

I am tired of crossbody bags. I now purchase top handle bags and bags with short shoulder bags.

Great video!! I agree with everything you said and I think you are spot on about the trends bc I’m seeing the same things on my social media. It’s crazy bc I am always so easily influenced and I don’t realize it until later when it goes out of style. I swear I really love it then years later I’m like what was I thinking lol. Good tip though to take your time and not impulse buy! 😀😀

I also noticed the crossbody bags being used less and less! Even people that have bags that are crossbody they handhold them, it’s not practical at all…

I always cravitated to neutral clothes and coloured accessoires. It just feels more stylish to me and i like playing with colours too. I must like that pop of colour.
