As a dane I'm happy my country gets some more spotlight cuz everytime people are thinking of Scandinavian/Nordic countries, they always default to Norway or Sweden, so it'd be nice if people could start at least remembering that there is one more country in Scandinavia.
Racism isn't a big thing here cuz we literally couldn't care less how you look or where you are from, all that matters is your attitude and if it sucks, we are not gonna like you no matter who you are. The reason you hear some racist jokes is because it's just part of our culture. We are a people who have a lot of self-irony and often makes fun of ourselves and our culture. Because of that, we do the same for other cultures and even races at times, it's not meant to be mean, it's actually supposed to make them feel welcome, part of our culture. We are treating them as we are treating ourselves.

I would just like to make the point that technically, like in Italy, there is no minimum wage in Denmark dictated by law. The minimum wage is negotiated by strong unions. In a sense we have more freedom than in even America.

I am impressed by how well you describe the Danes and life in Denmark in as short a time as your video lasts. You mention many things that I, as a Dane, would like to nuance and explain, but I also generally agree with you in your description, so BRAVO!

Thank you for the video. I'd just like to point out that all the "free" things you mentioned (healthcare, education, kindergartens) are actually pre-paid, since they come out of your taxes. Nothing is free and surely not from governments. :)))

Lol, eastern europe people and stealing bikes. As someone from The Netherlands we would make a joke that we are still waiting for Germany paying are giving us our bikes back from the second world war. They stole all our bikes ! :). I love Danish people, the culture is almost the same as here. We see eachother like cousins. We share a lot of the same history, we even helped the Danes against Sweden.

Some history lessons:
Nyborg 1659 – To protect trade in the Baltic Sea, the Netherlands sends a war fleet to help the Danes in the war against Sweden. On November 25, 1659, a Dutch fleet led by Michiel de Ruyter relieved the Danish city of Nyborg. Out of gratitude, de Ruyter is ennobled by the Danish king.

I hate that people are saying bad things about the weather of Denmark!
Earth became such a hot burning planet!
Then if there’s a country that you can escape the summer heat, I would call it heaven! 😇🌳🌼

A little criticism.
If you need to see a general practitioner, you will have an appointment the same day. If it is a specialist, then there may be waiting time.
The general waiting time for a cancer treatment is about 14 days.
The private unemployed insurance (A-kassener) not entirely private, the state pays part of "your" unemployment benefits. A-kassener is a voluntary option, and if you opt out, you can get kontanthjælp, if you become unemployed. You get paid less in Kontanthjælp and have more obligations than in the A-kassener.
Danes are not so fond of the Muslim faith because there are many major contradictions in our philosophy of life. This is sometimes seen as racism, but in general it is not.
I think the social aspect of moving to Denmark is the most difficult for immigrants, but there are several great videos on YouTube on how to overcome it.
Yes winter is sucking in Denmark, but I hope that the summers can make up for it :)

It's true that many foreigners sometimes tend to believe that everything is free in Denmark. Yes, I guess you can say it is free if you are in some way incapable of working etc. However, the system of "free" services in Denmark is based on that everybody pays tax and since the tax is progressive, you pay more the more you earn.
When I was a child in the 1960s and 1970s, this was a fantastic system and pretty much well regulated by the Danish people. It was not a common sight to see that people tried to take advantage of the welfare system.
This changed in the 1970s and since then, the system has been tightened up consistently so it is today much more difficult to get support. You need to document your need and after you get into the system, you will be monitored so the authorities can be sure you are not just trying to take advantage of the system.
Denmark is actually pretty easy. If you follow the laws and rules, you will be pretty much ok. The system is not perfect so of course there is a chance that you could end up in trouble with the system of no fault of your own.
As a foreigner, as long as you come to Denmark without trying to claim that you need to be treated in any special manner due to religion or culture, you will be ok. If you try to claim that Denmark needs to take special precautions towards you due to religion, culture and/or race, you have arrived to the wrong country. As long as you make an effort to learn Danish and make an effort to get a job, you will always be accepted.
Enjoy Denmark, follow the rules, get friends, learn the language as well as you can and you will be just fine.

You have misunderstood the a-kasse its an insurance for unemployment walid for 2 years were you get up to 80% of your salery if you are not insured you can get Kontanthjælp however you are allowed to own a total of 10.000 DDK do you own more than that you can not get kontanthjælp so people will have to sell their car / house sommerhouse if they want kontanthjælp

Well done video, it was a good watch.. I find Stockholm to be very similar.

As it goes for making friends with the locals - as a migrant, it's been the same in England as it is in Sweden and Denmark is probably just the same. Work relationships within the context of work is easy - but most people outside of work stick to their circle of friends.. the only country that differs greatly is America (maybe also Israel?) - where people are not just polite but also friendly and open.

The key as a migrant to making friends is really with people with similar interests.. i.e. other migrants looking for friends having just moved country.

The waiting lists at hospitals could be partly due to it not being possible to bribe your way through the system.
That's the problem with "real" democracy (NOT the US-version): the same rules applies to everybody! Your waiter, your bankmanager, your doctor, your garbageman, your proffesor, and your policeman - they all earn a "decent" salary, and they all stand in the same line as you! Your can't pay or lick your way through - anywhere.

That dude Palle is just a old idiot so don't listen to people like him.🤗
I appreciate that you enjoy your life here in Denmark and hopefully you have found some good people here to call your friends.😊
I can see how we danish people seems a bit closed and it's probably true cuz yes, it's a little country so people from your old school days is still around you so it's easy staying in contact and gives some stronge connections over time but I'm shure the most people can use a extra god friend.😁
Sadly we are not the best people to get new friends cuz we simple don't know how to, growing up with the same people "in the same group" has left use afraid talking to new people we don't know.😅

The weather here is never super good but also not super bad in my opinion and its always a good way to start the conversation saying "wow the weather is bad today" 😂

in the wintertime you should time vitamine D, because you do not get enough sunsine, for your body to produce it, low vitamine D can lead to depression (winter depression)
