Thinking about buying a home in Pennsylvania?

I’m a Pennsylvanian and I agree with all of this except for the snow. Some parts of Pa really don’t get a lot of snow. I live in the Delaware Valley and this winter we got some snow but it didn’t stick. The past couple of winters have been mild. Another thing I like is we really don’t get to many natural disasters. And as a gardener the soil and rain and sun combo is amazing.

We moved out by Altoona 4 months ago from New Jersey. Best move ever! Cost of living SO much lower and we’re away from all the traffic and overcrowded conditions. I just make sure to listen to New Jersey radio everyday so I don’t lose my accent.

I'm moving into my new house in PA at the end of the year. Didn't realize how much I loved it until I left.

Moving to PA from Florida.fell in love with a historic mansion there and in Florida it world be 10-20 times the price plus the town has low crime good schools and all the amenities in town we need including a top rated hospital schools major stores restaurants parks and more. We lived in Michigan for 8 years so we know winter weather and actually prefer it over Florida's never ending heat and hurricane issues plus we strongly miss gorgeous fall and spring. One thing I will miss is the ocean but pa has many streams rivers lakes and hiking trails plus we will have more time to enjoy it all because in Florida it was non stop work to survive plus hours a day in traffic.

The worst thing about Pennsylvania are the roads with potholes and deer. Not sure how the streets are in Philly or Harrisburg but Pittsburgh is literally the hardest place to get around in. I learned my way around by driving there between 3-4 in the morning when no one was out. However I will say this, everyone knows the place is confusing so they are very forgiving when you need to skooch over in another lane. Just give them that ‘I’m totally confused” look and a nice wave when you get over and you’re good to go. Also Pittsburgh is the hub of medical centers. I was once lost in one of the huge buildings and ended up in a med school classroom. The instructor took pity on me and had had one of the students escort me to where I needed to go. And this is one big reason why I love Pennsylvania ❤

I live in Oregon & growing up we pronounced “creek” as “crick”, too, so it’s not just a PA thing

19 is not that bad. As a Brazilian who lived in some of the hottest places, I visited Ontario in the spring, and it was around 33 outside and I felt comfy with only a full sleeve shirt and jeans. Also the liquor laws are a plus to me as it protects the children and I don't drink anyways.

Ummm born and raised PA Philly to be exact but do note that there is a huge difference in Eastern PA and western PA and also Northeastern PA and Northwestern PA etc… it’s significantly warmer in the Southeastern PA than anywhere North or West PA…. But yes driving on the East def faced paced and fast paced in general…and potholes are serious…and it’s “Jeet” aka did you eat? And it’s Wooder—-

The weather is accurate. Agree about allergies and humidity. Snow though? In the Philadelphia area? What's that?

Thinking about pulling up roots in Buffalo NY and moving to northwestern PA with my gf after we get married. Still thinking it over though.

All i can say is...if you are moving to PA, (poconos as an example) to get away from the negatives of "city life"...forget it. It's already there now in large masses. Winter up in northeast pa is pretty bad as i experienced 6 to 7 foot snow drifts almost every winter, having to dig out of my home, and the front door was at least 4 feet off the ground to begin with.

It's not that people are impatient or in a hurry...it's that we have a lot of passive aggressive drivers that clog the passing lane. These people are quite inconsiderate and are the reason others need to get even more aggressive

Very great video. Full of good information, however a sub and a hoagie are not the same thing. I'm from PA, hoagies are messy and can only be ordered from a mom and pop shop.
