WHY IS THE INTERVIEWER ASKING YOU THE QUESTION, TELL ME ABOUT A TIME WHEN YOU HAD TO DEAL WITH A DIFFICULT CO-WORKER!

They are asking you this interview question for 2 reasons.

REASON #1. How you deal with difficult co-workers says a lot about your maturity, your interpersonal skills, and your teamwork skills. Unless you deal with a difficult co-worker in a smart and confident manner, the team’s progression can often be impacted.

REASON #2. They want to hear of a previous situation where you successfully dealt with a difficult co-worker because if you have prior experience of this type of situation, you will more likely be a great fit for their team.

Let me now tell you the NUMBER ONE BEST METHOD for structuring your answer to the behavioural interview question, tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult co-worker.

The best method to use is called the STAR TECHNIQUE.

The STAR technique stands for, situation, task, action, and result.

- Start off your answer and tell the interviewer the SITUATION you were faced with.

- Second, tell the interviewer the TASK that needed doing.

- Next, give specific details about the ACTION you took to achieve the task.

- Finally, finish off your answer and tell the interviewer the RESULTS following your actions.

LET ME NOW GIVE YOU A BRILLIANT EXAMPLE ANSWER IN A LIVE INTERVIEW TO THE BEHAVIOURAL INTERVIEW QUESTION, TELL ME ABOUT A TIME WHEN YOU HAD TO DEAL WITH A DIFFICULT CO-WORKER: 04:04

Plant drugs in their locker and inform management that you have a concern about some things you saw. Problem solved 😂 You can learn a lot from JR Ewing!

Looking for excuses to cover up your
mistakes is an indication that
you do not want to change.
The process of looking for excuses
is detrimental to your true nature.
It harms you and leaves your conscience with
no place to stay.

Would this be an ok answer

Myself and a co worker didn't see eye to eye due to a task held out at work. I remember I went to the crew room while she was there and I asked her in a calm manner, is there any difficulties between us, to which she replied oh not this again I don't want to talk about it. That same day the co worker was in a very foul mood and my shift manager called me and the co worker into the office. She explained what the situation was and the co worker blamed me for her ways. I explained to her that i understand our difficulties and the manager explained to the co worker to try and be more efficient towards me. She then replied OK and apologized.
