BIG SUMMER UNHAUL || Part 1

Here is the first in a mini series of how I unhaul books. This first part includes a bunch of the books I'm taking off my shelves. Heads up, there will be a booksale on IG on 8/16 or 8/17 for all of these books. If you're not following me there, you should be!

For those who noticed: Yes, my eye is really read. I broke a blood vessel and it will take a week or so to heal. Didn't want to wait to film. Sorry if it grosses you out! haha.

I don’t know why I enjoy watching unhaul videos, but I love them. I have been pulling several books off my shelf to get rid of lately. Just not enough room for new stuff.

One persons unhaul could be the next persons book treasure ~ 👏🏻📖

I also love to be surrounded by books!! Over time I do think our reading interests change so it's a good thing to do overhauls. My frustration comes when I want to read my own books but I also get so many new books from the library!!

I just unhauled several books in the 'Keeper of the Lost Cities' series. I turned those in for credit at my favorite little used book store. I read 'Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey' back in March. I liked it more than I thought I would.

yeah, good job getting rid of Soul of an Octopus. LOL I love having unread books in my house, but I don't keep a lot of the books I've read. Unhauling is very cleansing...freeing. You do what feels good for you. Well done. 👍

Good job with the unhaul. Since the Pandemic and quarantine I have been purchasing quite a few books. I just went through my bookshelf and pulled off a pile which I have set it aside for donation, and another pile with the intention of if I don’t read them by Oct they are gone. Thanks for sharing.

I live in a tiny NYC apartment but I still try to keep as many books around me as I can. I not only love reading books but find both buying and unhauling books to be so cathartic.

I have unhauled so many in recent years. I always wanted my own home library, but now I’m happy keeping my favorites and letting go of the rest. I like to put them up for swap with my book club, take them to the used book store or distribute them at local Little Free Libraries!

What a great unhaul! I have so many books and I keep getting more. I really need to do this too.

Oh I have been wanting to pick up Ember in the Ashes! I totally thought I was the only one who isn't bothered by covers not matching, i love seeing that I am not alone in this!

I think it's best to unhaul books you no longer want to read or have read and do not want to keep. This gives you more space and others a chance to read them.

I listened to New York. Audio is the way to go for this tome!

I like the unhaul trend--ever the declutterer! <3 I'm also excited to hear about how to process all of the discards, since I am stuck at that point myself. Also listened to By The Book pod where they talked about this in the context of --and during the pandemic! True heroics. :DDD

I've been a very lazy BookCrosser, so I'm working on a release project to try to get back into it. Even then, I'll still have thousands of unread books on my shelves. But I take a certain comfort in knowing I will never not have something to read.

Hello, Love your videos. Not sure if you know or not but The One and Only Ivan was made into a movie and will be on Disney plus at the end of the month. My daughter and I read that one last year and loved it. We are looking forward to the movie. You can google to see the trailer it looks good. Have a good weekend.

Un-hauling books is so so hard for me! I love my books and I love having them in my house. What I do is pull the ones I don’t think I’m going to read and put them in a box, and after a time I go through the box and really think and make sure in my mind that I’m not going to read it. Then I usually take them to 2nd and Charles for book credit or I donate them to a local charity shop.

I have no problem un-hauling books, I go through books, that I'm not interesting in reading
any more, about every 4 months. I either take them to goodwill or a used bookstore
where they either give you credit or money for the books. I do however read certain books
in which I distribute to my two sisters and send it to them. One reads only mystery and thrillers
and the other reads a lot of different genre's. I rarely keep books I read. After all I need space for the books I bring in to read.

Unhauling is a good thing because there could be books you were interested in, but no longer have a desire to read. I too forget how many Thursday Next books there are in Jasper Fforde's series, but I think I have all of them and have read the first five. They are good books, but will admit there are some lulls. His Nursery Crimes books are better and I think there are 3 or 4 books in that series.

Love this process of Unhauling videos. 😊
