I guess I came here to find when to utilize the quadratic formula in every day life. That's what everyone wants to know. That is the reason why people don't think what they learn in algebra applies in their own life.

In the 2nd example, it might have made the numbers easier if we first divided both sides by 3, which is the GCF.
