I came a bit late to the party so have only just found this. Amazingly my Macbook Air 1446 had only just died completely - not bad for 4-5 years. Anyway as soon as I saw this video I knew I could change the battery myself AND save 50% on having it done. I so much appreciate it being clear, clean straight to the point. Thanks, useful to mention to :
1. There were no instructions that came with my ebay order so this video was very useful thanks again.
2. The battery 'User Manual' did mention about 1st charging from depletion to 2% then up to full 100% - which took 4 hours!
3. Expect lot of dust & so go and find a camera soft brush or vacuum to very carefully remove before taking out old battery.
4. There are 4 plastic films on the new cells should be left on, although there were the opposite advice on same ifixit website.
5. Some of the T5 screws are also longer (well on my Mac they were).
6. Reconnecting the battery is fidelly, as the cable lengths require bending to enable you to fit in the mating plug/socket.
7. In all it was fairly easy, it may be fiddly for those with bad eyes/fingers as screwa are tiny.
8. Far easier than doing similar for iPad, which I haven't managed to do as the hair dryer method does not work for me (yet!).
