This song hit me to my core. It debuted at a time where I started my new life. Newly graduated, moving to a new city, leaving my family behind to pursue a better life for myself. It nearly made me cry the first time I heard it. I'm on my own, with a future that I will mold myself and hopefully create something wonderful for myself. I've been a longtime fan of Mili and several of their songs are pure gems, and this one may not be the most popular, but for me and my journey, it's the most important song I've ever heard in my life. Thank you Mili 🙏

For some reason, even though I doubt I'm able to understand all of the meaning of the song, it's still as enchanting - and maybe even more so - as all the other Mili songs.
This is one of the more hopeful songs (at least, to me), though. At the end, the noose is hung by its' loop rather than tied to the hook, which combined with the lyrics prefacing it ("it took a million, a billion generations to bring me here, i'm not going back") makes me think the character has decided to live in spite of all of the things that have befallen them. Both because they think the world is beautiful and worth living in, and also because of the effort it took to create them.

Theories aside, this is an incredible song and another display of just how good Mili's vocal range is! Fantastic work everyone involved

My interpretation about this song:

The kid is an unexpected but desired kid, product of a loving relationship between a Japanese woman and a non-Japanese man in a country so far away from the islands.

But short after the mother gives birth, she dies. (Shooting from endometrial lines / Looking back to our motherland / Mommy look! You are fireworks!)

After the kid is born, the father takes him into custody and the kid is raised in his father's country. Some years later, when the child is older, the father gets married with a different woman. But the kid is a nuisance to the step-mother (I come in Peace, don't leave me out / Sure I'll raise you like my own / A taste (...) of your conditioned love)

As the kid grows older, he is discrimined by his step-Mother and by the people around him because of his asiatic ascendence.

And this mistreatment led the kid to suicidal thoughts, but he still kept in mind his origins, and the fact that his mother loved him very deeply (my skin, my eyes, my ears, and the world you left me are the signs you loved me).

So he decided to come back to where he is not different, to the place where his roots and his mother's roots are. He goes back to his origin: a place in the sea, in the Japanese countryland (salty breeze, turquoise waters, honey sand and never-setting sun.) There, he will not be discrimined because of his genetics.

This gives him determination to avoid all suicidal ideas and gives him strength to go back, riding a thousand waves

I'm your living song -> so I can live for you, even if you are not here with me.

This is a wonderful song, filled with hope, that guides us to the idea that change is possible, no matter how difficult the circumstances are.
