I agree with your recommendation. I was looking at the M2 Air and started upgrading it and the cost was getting crazy. So I went with the M1 Pro 14 and I am so happy I did! Got more computer for the money I would have spent with the M2 Air.

By now there is a sea of YouTube videos about MacBooks and comparisons. The way you condensed the information and framed it makes this video truly stand out from the rest. At the end of the day most people are watching these videos to make a decision and you really hit the nail on the head. Great work.

I was having trouble deciding between the two so I bought both and tested them out for two weeks. In the end, I returned the pro because it was heavy and the display differences weren’t as drastic as I thought they’d be. I love promotion on my phone but barely noticed it on the computer. Display was a little bit brighter but really didn’t matter. Battery life on the air was better. Strangely enough, I preferred typing on the air over the pro as well. Since I don’t need it for video editing or high intense tasks beyond manipulating large files in excel, the air made the most sense for me. Great video!

Was going to get an M2 Air with 16/512 as a CS student but with Black Friday I got a brand new 14” Pro for $1599. Cant be happier as it cost less than the same spec’d air.

Decided to get the air. Way cheaper. Most people don’t need those specs and don’t need the ports considering we probably already have all those dongles. Only reason to get the pro IMO is for heavy cpu usage which in that case I’d recommend the 16 because it handles temperature better. I thought best thing is to stick with the air and if I outgrow it, consider an upgrade from there. Especially when the 14 mbp is about a 50 percent increase for little difference in day to day usage. Why use your laptop for high quality videos when most people watch media on a tv. If you’re considering purchasing a mbp I’m sure you have money or already own a nice TV

MacBook Air M2 was a no brainer for me. I absolutely wanted the thinnest and lightest for my travel backpack. The weight difference IS noticeable.

A YouTube rarity - straight to the point, no fluff, 100% fat-free video. Nice job.

I'm the second example you gave, I want maximum power for minimal size and weight for the amount of travelling I do. I have a 16" MBP (2020) and a 13" MBP (2018), I've always wanted an Air but it never had enough power, now it seems these new ones are a game changer. Going to spec up a M2 Air! Thanks for confirming my thoughts in this vid!

As a grad student- I’m going for the M2 MB Air since it’s light and portable. Hopefully they worked out the kinks in the keyboard which sometimes got stuck on my 2018 mb air.

I love the M2 MacBook Air design and how sleek it looks, but the M1 14 inch pro mini LED is the only thing I would love to have on this MacBook Air

Damn... why did they have to make the air so pretty 😭 I absolutely love that midnight shade. But the pro sounds more like what I would need and likely last longer.

I went with a middle of the road 14in M1 Pro, 16gb 1TB. Love it, still pretty portable and really fast. But that midnight finish looks so good! Might just have to get a base model for travel lol!

Where I’m living in Canada the m2 air is sold out everywhere. Even though the mba was my first choice, the pro m2 is almost the same price and has the active cooling system.
I’m not crazy on high tech designs so I’m cool with not having the latest notch design. Afterall the performance is what matters

I went the opposite way. I got an ipad pro M1 11''. Fits my needs as a home inspector. I thought a laptop would be more fitting, and I really did have my eye on one, but maybe next time. Great vid!

For the past 3 months I've been saving up for a spec'd out 16" MBP w/ the highest M1 Pro. The Max isn't much more when you're in this price range but I'd rather trade in more power for more power, battery power that is. I'm not gonna utilize the extra GPU cores, heck I'd be fine with an entry level M1 Pro but I want a little more wiggle room for a relatively small amount extra. I'm also just gonna get 4TB which will be plenty. I could settle for 2TB but again I want a little wiggle room. I haven't been excited for an Apple product like this since the iPhone X and the 27" 5K iMac.

Power wise, the m1 basic is good enough for me, but the design of the m2 (esp with midnight) is so delicious that I am considering going for that one anyway.

I did have the midnight m2 air 8cpu/10gpu 512/16gb. I returned it for the m1 pro 14. I'm super happy. I love the better screen of the m1 pro 14, better speakers, more ports, better cooling.

Thank you for the clarity! I already own the M1 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage (10-core CPU and 16-core GPU), but I honestly regret not upgrading to the 32GB or 64GB memory option for future proofing reasons. I figured the M2 Air offering 24GB was a slight upgrade and I'd be open to the idea of giving up the beautiful display and sound quality on my M1 Pro... I guess switching to the M2 Air isn't worthwhile after all... I seriously wish apple would allow me to upgrade my current model but that's asking for too much, I guess. Thanks again for your help!

I went back and forth on this a lot. I ended up doing the unthinkable - M2 air with 24g RAM with 256 SSD. With Cloud, I haven't needed to store a ton of files, I usually use a handful of applications, and am a programmer who needs the boosted RAM. Maybe I made the wrong choice, but really loved the idea of M2 air being sleek + light
