Why Your Life Sucks (or doesn't) - Genetic Determinism

How much do your genes matter? How much does your environment matter? In this video I attempt to provide a better understanding of why genes are vastly more influential in one's life, in comparison to environment.

The key take away is that genetics don’t 100% determine your path, as they are probabilistic. However, similar to a Casino always profiting long term, the longer you live, the more your genes will define you. There is no escape. Thus, they do not completely determine you, environment does certainly play a factor, but not as much as you’d expect.

The nature vs nurture debate is an important question. How unfortunate for all of those siblings who were split up and raised as lab experiments in the name of social science. Would anything have been different if the first experiment wasn't suppressed?
Tragedies have been a part of life as long as life existed. Just feels like humanity as a whole should be striving to do better

Just discovered your channel, great great content, however I’d like to rephrase a quote from Mark Meldrum phd, a professor I had, for you to think on your future videos. “Statistics give us a fair assessment about populations in the long-run, not individuals in the short run”. Determinism is evidently true in the data, but outliers do exist and the variance in results its actually pretty dramatic. My conclusion is that that variance present in income vs iq data is our free-will, limited by our genetic potential, and in life you can still do great or poorly given your genes. I arrived there also by comparing it with some bible passages that talk about talents. As I can see you have rocksolid opinions on these matters, so I took the time to maybe convince a creator like you on the possibility of something like a “conditioned free-will”. Nice videos my man
