The fact that the Japanese are not good at religion is strongly influenced by this incident. Of course I too.
Last year, a person who suffered from sequelae in the Sarin incident died. She suffered severe brain damage and her intellect became like a toddler and was always bedridden. Sarin is a terrible weapon. This case should not be weathered.

I had gotten back from an overseas trip the day before. Usually suffering from jet-lag, I would miss my usual train and route and would take an alternate route that would have led to transferring to the Hibiya line at Ebisu at exactly the time of the attack. A series of bizarre misfortunes had extended my travel time and so had collapsed into bed the night before exhausted, slept all night, woke up at my usual time and I had no jet-lag, so I took my usual route instead. I feel as if divine intervention kept me off that train that day. So many people were shocked that day. It seemed so surreal.

Can I just point out that Sarin is not a gas. Sarin is a neurotoxin with a high vapour pressure.

She had joined a '''religious group''' who was taking them to the ''mountain top'' A baby started to cry from heat etc. The leader told the mom to cover the baby's mouth, because of the disturbance. Turns out the '''religious Leader''' was released from the Bellevue Mental Hospital 3 months before.

I remember this. I have lived 64 years and from the time I was a child I side eyed religious zealots. My grandmother was a Jehovah's witness. Turned me off organized religion ever since. The sad thing is, the people who follow cult leaders are usually very good people with no direction. They don't feel loved, and they get love bombed. Charles Manson, L Ron Hubbard, Jim Jones and many other cult leaders were master narssists, and actually brilliant in a way. It's very sad!
