Its been a minute since my last Sonic Adventure 2 challenge, but we're back! This time we're gonna see if we can find every Lost Chao without using the Mystic Melody upgrade. Can we rescue them all? Lets find out!

Small Edit: I incorrectly stated Quiet Storm was the one who discovered the Egg Quarters skip, but it was actually discovered by wow123756!

This video is a nice reverse of the run I did as a kid: "Can I find NO lost Chao because I can't find Mystic Melody?"

So, what i learned from this, physics are completely broken, and that collision is a privilege, and can be revoked at any time.

Ah yes, Sonic Adventure 2, the physics-based platformer where physics is a myth.

I actually had to do this challenge when I was a kid because I didn't know about the Mystic Melody.

So the Lost Chao in Sonic’s last Level I think was a glitch that wasn’t present in the Dreamcast version.

I remember being perplexed by that rail as well as a kid on GameCube, and I swear I recall a video that explained that the railing worked normally on the original Dreamcast version.

I've definitely thought of this idea. But figured it would be impossible due to a few of the mech stages. Bravo to you on your commitment to rescue these poor little adorable creatures without needing to resort to a power up! You know what's more important.

10:13 If you get enough speed while jumping up into the rail, the momentum scoots you upwards. It's still a really dumb rail though.

You don't even need to glitch in Wild Canyon. There's a digable spot in a painting near the center area where you'll be taken to a room full of those same paintings. Find the right one and you can just find the Chao that way.

Edit: Never mind, someone already pointed it out.

Another route for Pumpkin Hill: the rocket that goes from Church Mountain to Pumpkin Mountain also leaves you high enough to glide to the chao

Duskk showed a Rouge level without her outfit?
I can't believe this.

What I like is that many of these don't even require glitches to do. Just cleverly use of abilities and game mechanics.

You've gotta be kidding me with sky I've always done that one accidentally cheating. It's was just natural progression. I ended up at the top three and never questioned the lack of music melody. I always thought it was an oversight by SEGA. I'm more proud of accidental shortcuts all these years. Now that I know what I'm doing, it's going to be extra hard because I'll be grading myself. Stupid

In Wild Canyon, there's another way to get the Lost Chao without using the Mystic Melody. On the second floor, there are 2 platforms, one of them has a wall which, by digging into it, leds you to a room with other walls. The middle one on the right leds you the room with the lost chao.

Wonderful, underrated video. The kind of obsessive content that just makes you want to be passionate about a subject too. I gotta replay SA2; the sheer level of weird detail in it makes it easy to understand why so many have called this the peak of the series.

I never clicked that the turtle is what was making that weird noise in Dry Lagoon, I always wondered what tf that was lol

In Wild Canyon you don't need the Mystic melody or glitching to get to the lost chao.
If you go up the wind pillar in the middle to the above ground level, underneath one of the overhaning balconies there is a digging spot and when you dig you will appear in a room with six more digging spots, jump onto the middle on the right hand side and that takes you to the chao.
I always use that one for the A rank as i found it way faster than the Mystic melody route.

Epic: "Finally, I've found every single bug and exploit possible in Sonic Adventure 2!"

Speed Runners: "Yeah... about that..."
