Diels Alder reaction regiochemistry and inverse electron demand

This video extends our discussion of the Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction to inverse electron demand systems, in which the electron donating group is on the dienophile and the electron withdrawing group is on the diene. It also discusses the regiochemisry of the reaction, explaining the preference for a 1,4 or 1,2 arrangement of substituents in the product rather than a 1,3 arrangement.
