Let's start getting into the weeds with our TP-Link hardware. While they did send me this they don't get any control over this content. At $59.99 at the time of filming this thing has some great features! It can be used stand alone or with the Omada controller. Let's dive in because the amount of features this thing provides for the price is almost overwhelming! The full model is the TP-Link TL-R605

We use this router with 4 consecutive public IPs (i.e. same block), and used the previous version the same way since 2015, so yes, it definitely works.

Thanks for the ALG comment at 6:59, was having erratic speeds until I disabled them. More specifically, SIP ALG was the issue, tested each and that was the problem.

Gotta give it to them, the feature-to-price ratio is insane on these. Now if they just made APs with a decent WAF. 😭

I see they finally added VLANs. Last time I checked this thing out, it could only do native VLAN.

It would be very helpful if you can kindly make video on how to create guest network and captive portal on this router.

Nice overview on the interface. I would like to ask if you can do the application (netflix, youtube, games) routing through the different wan ports with this device?

Hello. Is there a bridge mode (DHCP feature off) that is usually on the router?

Many thanks for the video! What happens if we load balance 2 ISP links having different speed? Say one is 100Mbps and the other is 20Mbps. Will it limit the speed to 20Mbps if traffic is routed to this link? Or is it smart enough to reroute it to 100Mbps link if the 20Mbps link is congested?

Hi Willie, what is your view on this Multi Wan Router in Comparison to the Grandstream GWN7000 that you previously reviewed?

Static routing is an absolute hell on this thing, still cannot get it to work, trying to get the lan to see my fortigate, and vise versa

My experience with DualWAN TP-Links so far is like - a lot of options and a lot of crashes. I moved to Ubiquity few years ago because of reliability. In my DualWan TP-Link with 20+ ports forwarded and couple rules, the device was freezing and hangs twice a week. If this haven't change, this is another nice looking Chinese toy.
