This is a hard one. It sounds like he doesn’t know what PR to the US is, and to be honest, most Americans don’t either. They view Mexico as a far away country and PR as a foreign nation. PR is not a country, it a commonwealth. This means they have freedom of movement throughout the rest of the US, just like New Yorkers or Californians, as of today, Puerto Ricans cannot be illegal immigrants.

Tony Hinchcliffe first of all you are not very educated, secondly did you know that the people of Puerto Rico are US Citizens? They use the US dollar, have a federal court, and the postal service is the same as in the USA. The Island was granted the status of Commonwealth of the USA and they have a Resident Commissioner in Congress. The island has its own government and Governor. The children at public schools are taught English from the first grade through high school. The people of Puerto Rico can travel freely between the USA and the Island without a passport. My husband and I had vacation in Puerto Rico few weeks ago...Beautiful place, great food and people! Very welcoming, saw many wonderful places! We definitely would like to go back there!
We would recommend to anyone to visit Puerto Rico and appreciate the beauty of it!
