Trump MSG rally: Fallout continues over comedian's remarks about Puerto Rico | LiveNOW from FOX

Former President Donald Trump returned to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday night to make his final campaign pitch with just over a week until Election Day.

A stand-up comedian’s comments about Puerto Rico and diverse communities drew immediate backlash from the Harris campaign, which seeks support among Puerto Rican voters in swing states.

"I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico," comedian Tony Hinchcliffe said during the rally.

New York has the largest Puerto Rican population outside of the island. Several members of the community took to the street to express their displeasure with the comments during Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden.

Some critics could be heard yelling, "Trump is garbage! Trump is garbage!"

I am a Puerto Rican …. 13 years AD and now Guard… I care less about this … we need a steady economy, better healthcare, secured border, prayer in schools, get rid of the DIE mentality, better foreign relations, better equipment for our military branches, bring back companies so we have more job options, I want to be able to buy a decent house and not pay an amount of 700k for a 220k house at a decent APR percentage, lead the county by its Constitution and not by people’s feelings.
