In my opinion, I hate the fact that Daisy stayed with his unfaithful husband (well, she's unfaithful too). Made a promise to Jay but can't stand firm by her decision. Only there when everything is on her convenience, and would turn back to everything blindly when everything is in chaos. So, it looks like she only side for things that only favor to her and don't know how to own up responsibilities.

I know what Daisy and Gatsby had but younger me was eating this up 😭 i love their story it was beautiful but tragic once you understand the actual backstory

I was Daisy. Gatsby and I separated a while ago. The whole time he hoped I’d reach out, even while I was in a relationship.

I had been dating another person and on my birthday after not speaking to him for a long time, my ‘Gatsby’ sent me a message. Of course I cried and got drunk just like Daisy did the night before her wedding. But I didn’t tell Gatsby how I felt because I was in a committed relationship already.

A family member set it up so I’d see Gatsby while I was with someone else, who was my ‘Tom’. Of course, nothing happened because I was still with someone else. But I left Tom after I realized I was still in love with Gatsby. Tom was also physically abusive at times and was using me, which is what forced me to think about old feelings and leave him. But now my Gatsby has turned into another Tom.

It’s like once Gatsby had me, he no longer felt the thrill of the chase and was disappointed. A very different ending from the original Great Gatsby story, but just as sad.

This is probably the best music video I've found of these two with this song. It's hauntingly beautiful. My only very miniscule complaint is that in the verse "Dear lord when I get to heaven", it's accidentally "dr." in the captions. Other than that it's amazing🖤
