My absolute favorite thing about this channel is how much it’s geared toward “fish health and happiness comes first, but otherwise do whatever you want with your tank.” It takes so much pressure off of the hobby since so many other fish channels can be very intimidating!

You guys are so down to earth, it makes it easier for new fish keepers to get educated and feel comfortable while doing so. When I was first starting out, I binged your channel and learned a TON of new stuff about certain species, aquascaping, tank set ups, etc.. just wanted to say I appreciate all you do, and I hope to see a lot more from both of you! 💜

Thank you for telling people that artificial plants and even the fun decor is okay. I would love to see u guys do some aquascapes like this. The internet is greatly lacking that basic content.

The best thing Joanna has ever said in any video....#10 Do what you want. Having fun is what it's all about. My favourite tank isn't the all singing all dancing biotope that took me ages to do. It's the 20 gallon where I used blue gravel, white sand, some resin palm trees, beach huts and sail boats...and I created a desert island scene.😊

Botanicals are something that can look great in an aquascape, but they do break down over time and those broken bits of leaves can be annoying during a gravel vac. Great video! I think my tanks have become somewhat more utilitarian over time as I have gained more experience with my fish and the way I have aquascaped their tanks. Aquascaping, though, is what makes fish keeping fun and interesting.

You guys rock! My wife just recently decided she wanted into the hobby as well and i got her her first 10g. she’s definitely team bright neon gravel 😅 I see the way you two bond over your hobby and it’s very much the same with her and I(ok I’m way more of a fish nut than her but she’s getting there lol), and it really warms my heart. Keep up the good work!

Great tips. Planning to rescape my tank. Over 5yrs old some of my plants looking a little ragged, and frankly board of how it looks.

Happy Monday right back at you, from a miserable, wet, cold Manchester, England.

As others have said below, your #10 tip, which you feel is really #1, is why I LOVE your channel. Tanks guys :) This type of advice is worth more than money. You two are the best. Be well and again, thank you!

Great list to consider! I just went through my own (very similar) list when scaping a 3 gal bowl. A "best long term plants for tiny tanks" would be a much appreciated video on this channel or small scape channel 😉

This was a great 10 things!! Great points on things to consider before setting up an aquascape or a tank! Thank you guys for always taking the time to help all of us in our hobby! Things I have definitely learned are being careful with betta fins and making sure things aren't big or small enough for fish to get stuck in them (chola wood.. I have no idea how to spell that) I had a white skirt tetra get wedged into a tiny piece of chola wood... to this day I still can't figure out how it got in there... it was really little. I literally had to break it to get him out and the fish is still alive 👍 I hope you guys are having a great week! Thank you always for sharing!!🙏🤗🌿🐟🌿💚

This is a wonderful video. My first tank was the basic 55g which is very difficult to aquascape due to the narrow dimensions front to back. (The next one was a 40 breeder—great for aquascaping!!) The 55 didn’t offer a lot of space to move things around, particularly when I fell in love with a larger piece of driftwood. I also learned to look at the tank from the side to see how much space the fish had to swim and room for the plants.
