The Horn of Erebor | ISOLATED AUDIO | The Hobbit

The Horn of Erebor from The Hobbit, without any background noises. In fact, "isolation" is not quite the right term for what I did here, because I basically recreated the sound by layering multiple tubas and trombones. I did this using Spitfire Audio's BBC Symphony Orchestra. My digital audio workstation is Reaper.
While this sound recreation is not perfect, it will still make for a great ringtone!

Its not just the beauty of the Horn (All dwarvern crafts were sensational) but the power behind it. It was as if every orc, goblin and troll felt a primal fear in their blood the moment they heard it. It was the sound of a greatness long-lost to the world. And a power that had driven them before to the darkest of holes.

I like that the melody of the horn incorporates elements of the Erebor leitmotif.
