I love the colors you picked!
The lack of visibility in the Pelikan would bother me too-- it does in my vintage lever filler. I haven't done this yet, but I've considered weighing the pen empty and then weighing it inked and keeping track of it that way. I know that sounds a little compulsive, but my day job is as an analytical chemist, compulsively measuring things is in my DNA!

I've only inked half my pens so far, but apparently it's an Herbin kind of month. I've got Rouille D'ancre, Cacao du Bresil, Bouquet D'antan and Gris Nuage going so far.

That Benu is gorgeous 😍 this month I am using my demonstrator pens, so a Lamy Vista and Pilot Kakuno, with Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Ryoku and Shin-Kai respectively.

Love your videos and your taste in ink colors and pens. Your handwriting is so beautiful! There's just one thing...The word tomoe has three syllables. You call it "toe-moe", but it actually has three sounds: "toe-moe-eh". But your other pronunciation of Japanese brands and ink colors is 👏🏻

Ohhhh I transcribe literature, too!!! I'm writing Brandon Sanderson's The Emperor's Soul right now. Some people might think it's pointless, but seriously, it's very calming. Plus it's good writing practice

I actually do like to match ink colors to pens when possible. I recently bought two pens from BENU's Talisman line. In the "Four Leaf Clover" I'm using Monteverde Erinite and in the "Mandrake" I'm using Monteverde Mulberry Noir.

I just bought 2 Twsbi Eco’s med and fine nibs with the Twsbi 5 ink set! Added to my to my 2 Lamy Safaris . I’m hooked and waiting on a J Herbin ink. I’m hooked. Thank you for sharing your ink selections 🙏

I too just acquired a Benu. I picked up one from the Talisman line in Edelweiss. I got a medium nib as I seem to be gravitating more towards them lately. Haven’t inked it up yet though.

I've got a variety of fountain pens, none of which are very expensive, and I'm planning to soon take a shot at writing some poems/lyrics and hopefully in the process discover that there's a Bob Dylan and/or Joni Mitchell lurking in me and oozing with talent, which would be waay cool!🤓
Btw, a while back I accidentally ordered two lovely bottles of calligraphy ink for which I have no use for (as the stuff is said not to work with FPs). So, IF you have a PO Box or can swing by Reno, I'd be happy to give them to you (free of charge, of course!😊).
