Before you can understand if liberalism is correct, one should study and think deeply about what Freedom is and how one attains it.

Is living however you choose actual freedom?

Is a drunk who ends up divorced, kids taken away and homeless and then in prison really free?

Or does true freedom require self discipline, ordered use of our gifts, skills, abilities and resources?

Liberalism tells us the highest value for human beings is to choose to live however we want. But we can’t and don’t. We are limited by all kinds of things and it turns out the more we limit ourselves to good, moral behavior, the more free we are.
