I do this once a week for the entire week. And my paste contains a lot of stuff other than garlic. Like ginger, chillies, coriander etc

This works! The only thing I’d suggest is to put some oil in it and just keep it in the fridge, not freezer. We do this a lot here in Asia, esp in Korea and Japan. You can even find bottled ones in the supermarket. It also doesn’t lose flavor. Give it a try! ☺️

Or we can put them in an air tight container and put it in the refrigerator and use it whenever we need! Indian households have always done that🌸

Been doing this for years. My mom too. We do this with all veggies and condiments; onion, garlic, peppers, scallions. My frozen prep lasts 2 wks to about a month since I cook daily.

My granny makes this paste and puts in it in ice cube trays or in a container and then into the freezer. It works just as fine♥️ but your method is nice too. I’ll suggest it to her. She can literally freeze anything haha😂

In Korea, garlic is sold minced. It lasts for months in the container, no need to even freeze it!

Or just smash and use fresh garlic every time, it hardly takes 2 minutes.

Great idea! I do the same thing with onions, but I recommend using freezer bags and doubling up to keep the smell from overwhelming your freezer.

My mom does this. Every month or so we have a day dedicated to peeling so much garlic so that she makes loke 3-4 jars of this (except she adds some more stuff in it, so it turns out green) and some goes in the freezer, others just stay to the side. Great hack and great chore for kids
