The SOCIAL part is what tripped me in choosing C. "Unique Way of Life" was the key

I can see the correlation to the second part of C, but I think what tripped me up was that making an assumption of "social concerns" with "unique way of life."

C seems too vague which is why I picked D, the politician stating that importing fruits from other countries is cheaper than domestic fruit growing, but nevertheless, siding with local farmers in a sense is the same reasoning in option D.

does social concern stop at a border? what about the social concern of the "growers from other countries", wont this tariff hurt their livelihood and thus their family's quality of life, that's certainly a social concern IMHO. I'm pulling for D because, while the domestic citizen consumers' interests wouldn't be put ahead, the domestic farmers interests would take precedence over the foreign growers interests, right?
