This helped me! When you do a Update Driver using the Device Manager it will actually report the error if any. In my case it was not enough disk space in C drive. Idiotic Nvidia requires 4GB on C even if no Experience is installed and the installer itself is unpacked on a different drive.

The Nvidia installer and uninstaller both stops before it gets to any choises and nothing I have tried works... I am down to having to do a complete reinstall of windows to fix this.

Hey guys if nothing is working (nothing did for me) select - Driver only or whatever when installing. For some reason I think it gets stuck on the other stuff if you already have the same versions on your system. Just update the driver alone.
