I subscribe and promote your channel because you are one of very few content creators that hasn’t changed from the beginning. You keep everything transparent and show mistakes as well as the triumphs.

Great video! I’ve owned multiple super cars, including a 458, and agree they’re things, like any other thing. They are only as good as the enjoyment they bring to you which is only defined by you. It’s different for different people.. Enjoy the experience, know that you are blessed, lucky, and rewarded, because many never get the opportunity.

Your channel has helped me and saved me so much money I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate it. I’ve got a F430 Spider and lucky for me that’s the Ferrari you did a substantial amount of DIY on. It saddened me when you got the 458 because I was like, shit, now the 430 self help videos will end lol.
Anyways, you’re dealing with the public and you are guaranteed to get a certain percentage of negativity no matter what you do. Your channel is the first I ever subscribed to and I say keep up the good work Dan. People should use your basic help and amend it as they see fit. Hope Meg and the family are doing well!

When my significant other comes out into the garage and asks why I haven't done something a certain way I always reply, "a job worth doing is a job worth doing poorly". Just a statement that reminds us all that perfection is theoretical and unobtainable.

Perfection is the enemy of "good enough". Don't get analysis paralysis. These are the two mantras I live by in my career.

Dan, you’re the man! Haters are gonna hate and you don’t have to explain anything to haters. People that enjoy you sharing your journey in the super car world appreciate you bro! I know I do. Keep it up, bro!

Dan your t-shirt says it perfectly in your humor "I devalue cars". You are absolutely right in your attitude and enjoy the car. It is a thing to be enjoyed not worshiped in a garage. At least your not Corvette owners🤣🤣🤣 hello to the family and keep up videos.

I worked for General Electric a an engineer for many years. We always chased perfect but in the end we would end up settling for GE…Good Enough. You have a great channel, so your thing and enjoy it!

I completely agree! You guys bring up some valid points. Again, the name of the channel is normal guy supercar not neurotic guy supercar.

What people don’t understand, is that (most) mechanics don’t really care about your repair/car. People think that when they pay a mechanic, that they are getting “perfection” ignorance is bliss…

Doing the repair yourself, even if you cut some corners, is a better job than most mechanics will do…

I have had the wrong fluids used, items neglected to be fixed properly, or shops that straight up lied or tried to rip me off..all after I paid a “professional” to do the job.

Keep up the good work!

Even if everything is done “By the book” or “Perfect”, ppl will still have something neg to say. Lol

The main reason I watch your channel and I am a subscriber, is because of your DIY factor. That and it’s fun to watch your events and take your advice and everything else, oh and the second main reason, Adam’s hair. Keep up the good work boys.

Plus if his car was dead on perfect he wouldn't drive it as much from fear of devaluing it

Nice subject, very well touched.
There’s a saying used in Arabia I’ll try to translate it to my knowledge: “The caravan is moving and the dogs are barking”
Hope it makes sense.

Who would criticize you?! Haters?! You’re like the most modest Ferrari owner I’ve ever seen!

Same thing applies to the small convex mirrors stuck on the existing mirrors for safety during lane change.

With 40-years of software development behind me, I couldn't have explained my mindset better. Just ordered one of those cool fire extinguishers.

Talking about my attitude towards exotic ownership, I own a Camaro ZL1 1LE, a highly modified Elise, and an Ariel Atom and I'm having a hard time finding good reason to move on to true exotics. Forget the repairs/potential major issues which everyone worries about, the cost per mile in depreciation is just off the charts. Any advice or input on what I'm missing out on?

Appreciate the high level philosophy. Good work ( from a 53 year old cap closure manufacturer) :)
