We share some classic car buying tips, and use this authentic 66 GT Mustang as an example on how we EVALUATE a potential classic car purchase. Some cars are so much better than they look while the opposite can be true of others. Review our top 3 value attributes we consider before purchasing a classic and how this unrestored survivor rated. Then go on a test drive with us to see how the A-code 289 Mustang runs after 41 years of sitting. I think you'll be surprised!

Gday from Australia, I bought a 66 factory gt fastback (used you previous video to confirm) that is also “freak” as you call them. Vintage burgandy with parchment interior. Sat in a garage since 1978 in New Mexico and had only 24k original miles. All original parts and metal too and zero rust. Tyres were still dated 1978 and had to swap out anything rubber due to rotting away. Love her to bits. Happy to share some photos of my beauty if you like. She’s back in the road being driven. Thanks for making the videos. Cheers Geoff

Super nice Mustang! It should be daily driven. I daily drive my 1969 Super Bee and love it.

Don't you just love buying from the original owner, they NEVER know what their car is worth! :) Even a long-time owner #2, same thing. I love it

I also have a 1966 GT Fastback. Options include: A-Code, Springtime Yellow, Black Pony Interior, AC (missing), Automatic Trans, PS and disc brakes. Pretty much factory loaded. At some time rear quarter panels were replaced and there's a little rust in the floor and trunk floor, and around the battery. I am about to put it on my rotisserie and found that the front radiator core support back to the spring tower might have a little twist. Nothing major and I will be replacing the sheet steel in that area anyway. I paid $5000 for mine about 5 years ago. While not as factory fresh as yours, pretty darned nice.

This beauty speaks for itself but your presentation was one of the best I have seen done on any car

Thanks for making this video - we are still on Corona lockdown here in the West Coast of Scotland and you really cheered me up! I've been working on my own '67 Mustang with all this free time - my next job is to figure how to replace the front cam bearing that disintegrated when I removed the cam! Watching this video made me think that it would have been fabulous to see you actually find and go to see this Mustang for the first time - just a thought. All the best and stay safe out there. :@)

Can a 3 Spd.be Conv.to 4 Spd., Just By Adding a Gear or Would 1st. & 2nd be Geared Too Low? Except for Paint, Looks & Seems to Be Pretty Good Shape. Can' t Say I've Ever Seen A 3 Spd.GT.Had A 3 Spd 71 AMX 360 & after I Conv.Stk.2 Barr.to "Dirt Track" 2 Barr. W/ Over sized Jets, Would Stay Up W/ Most Anything Red Lite to Red Lite, Back in the Day. Seems Classics or Muscle Cars From Colorado Would Be Parked Most of Winters, Because of Severe Winters, & Not That Much Rust.

Take a shot each time he says "des-hire-hability". We had 6 of these cars at one point and grandma gave them all away to "clear up space" 😏🤢 enjoy em today fellas!
