I would have angled out to the straight pipe at 45 degrees to eliminate 90 degree turns. its all a pretty straight shot from the roof to the drain on the hillside

Always backfill from the end back… that guarantees you keep your downhill grade

It looks real good. Congratulations! Why did you have the outlet extend 4 feet into open air? I would be afraid of something bad happening there. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I’m stuck on whether to use a wye like you did or a sanitary tee for the downspout clean out. I’ve seen a few pictures floating around where people use the sanitary tee with a grate. My plan is for the clean out to be fairly close to the ground

Nice work! Thanks for sharing the video. I'm curious though... is there some kind of removable screen that could be installed where the downspout meets the pvc pipe to keep leaves, roofing material, etc from entering the pipe? I would think that this debris entering the pipe would build up and clog the pipe underground at some point.

I'm catching three downspouts and moving the water about 10' or so under 3-4" of river rock. Flower beds so no traffic. 4" Schedule 40 PVC or DWV pipe? Cost difference is about $124 vs. +$200. Comments?

Hi I am trying to do this same thing with my downspouts. For material, I have the gutter adapters, but cant seem to find the y that connects to the gutter adapter. they dont fit together. I got 4" gutter adapter. Do you use 4" pipe throughout? Can you provide list of materials you used for this project?
