Also check out the end of the video for info about WorldWide Consulting and read the news on our Website about how much it costs. Its not as bad as you might think and I guarantee it will save yo9u money!

Great tip on using the 6" catch basin. Compare Home Depot and Lowes here in CT. Lowes sells a 6"catch basin WITH grate for 1$ more than H Depot sells just the 6" catch basin.

PVC is hard to use and expensive. But if it will get my toilet paper to my septic tank I think I would trust it over corrugated in situations where my house would flood if the pipe fails. Enjoy your vids Chuck!

Might as well leave the no hub loose if you're not even using pvc glue to secure the fittings.

I like to use a coupling to connect to the catch basins. I prefer the 6inch catch basin.

Do you say corrugated black pipe for all drainage projects? Black corrugated is def easier to deal with than sch 40 pvc, but gets damaged much easier.

Thanks for the uploads, I always enjoy them. F.Y.I, I just installed six of these around my house tapping into existing PVC stormwater down pipe systems. PVC is regulated here (Australia), anyhow, I used a system which I highly recommend called a Stormwater Snap Tee. Was very easy to use and required no cutting of the existing stormwater pipe. Cheers and thankyou again for your tips.

I bought a house that has the front yard asphalt. Would you use PVC sch 40 instead of corrugated pipe since cars will be driving over it? The drain ties into my downspout and goes out close to the street.

Corrugated pipe is horrible. I am in the process right now of replacing about 60 feet of it.

Have you ever modified a 6" catch basin with one outlet to accept another inlet at a 45 or even 90 degree angle?

YES catch basin size DOES matter, the small grate on the 6 inch will clog up faster with leaves and junk faster then the large 12'' grate. I had those 6" grat6s ant they were always clogging up leaves grass clippings and junk causing flooding.

👍I like it! DouBLE Thumbs Up ! It's so true. PVC Schedule 40 is 10X more difficult to use. I wouldn't recommend it unless you HAVE too.

I have a swale in my regular residential backyard that has shifted and now pools water. Is it a good plan to put a French drain under the base of the swale to collect as much water as possible in order to dry the yard out? Thanks for all your videos and help!

chuck, great video as usual. But, you gotta stop using your legs as a work surface. I learned the hard way years ago while drilling into conduit. Slipped off and drilled into my leg. I don't do that anymore!

You had the luxury to lift it when making that tie in. Sometimes, it’s all rigid and that not possible with one band…

Chuck, you specifically are wanted in NC for your brain, not your labor. Your Charlotte location can do the work. But we need your brain & experience for troubleshooting & finding the source or sources of the problem. 10+ years with no flooding, but now there is sporadic flooding that has even caused structural damage.

Chuck, dont roll the sod. It bakes it and kills it. Cut it into pieces and lay them to the side. Also a non manual cutter is much nicer and easier to do this with.

Small 6 inch grates clog up faster than Big ones, the 12 inch basin and grate BETTER!!
