I hammered the Creality K1 Max for a year. Here’s the verdict!

I pushed the Creality K1 Max to its absolute limits for an entire year—printing nearly non-stop, testing high speeds, and running demanding prints back-to-back. Now, after thousands of hours of printing, I have the definitive verdict on whether this giant machine is a true high-speed powerhouse or just another overhyped 3D printer.

In this deep-dive review, I reveal:

* Is the K1 Max still as fast as advertised, or has performance dropped?
* What’s holding up, and what’s failing after a year of wear and tear?
* Does the build quality and hardware stand the test of time?
* The biggest frustrations and unexpected surprises along the way.
* Should you buy it now, or is there a better alternative?

If you’re thinking about buying the K1 Max—or just want to see how a heavily used 3D printer survives after a year—this is the video you don’t want to miss. Watch until the end for the full breakdown, and let me know in the comments: Is the K1 Max worth it, or would you choose something else?

Hi David and thanks so much for this as it's helped my buying decision to replace my modified CR-10 v2. I've narrowed it down to three - K1 Max, Sovol SV08, Qidi X-Max 3 as I've got some fixed requirements on space, build volume and that I want a core xy. On the face of it the K1 Max fits the bill given the negatives (for me) on the others, but I needed reassurance on the K1 though Creality seem to have improved the machine since its launch.

Your video has given me the final info I need. Thanks again!

Now at the risk of turning an already long comment into a short novel, some feedback for you on why I've just subbed to your channel. You come across as a relatable, genuine human being with real world experience to talk about and I absolutely love the fun and quirky presentation style. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

A mention that Creality Print is a cut-down version of Orcaslicer wouldn’t have gone amiss. Also, that this printer can be easily rooted with the username/password supplied by Creality. That means you can make use of Orcaslicer if you want to.

Just bought this for about 800 dollars in Brasil, glad to see I made a good choice, most videos I saw talk about the bed being a little uneven and having to be adjusted manually, did you have to do that?

Thanks for the video!
Any chance you could share your pla/hyper pla speed settings?
Had this printer for a few months and love it!!

Did you have any problems with the belts? The machine worked for 2600 hours. The belt tension cannot be adjusted. There is a shift in the x-axis. The belts seem to be intact. But I don't know if I need to change the belts.

Wait, are you saying the AI camera won’t stop a bad print?!? That’s one of the reasons I’m thinking of purchasing it.

Thank you for this video. I’ve been looking at getting back in printing and have been looking for a more professional printer for automotive prints. This looks like just the ticket.

Did you have any problem with the magnetic plate coming apart (tearing) after prolonged hot printing sessions? At first the build plate would slightly stick to the magnetic plate, but gradually became worse with the sticking, and tore apart the magnetic surface. I fixed this with applying a new magnetic plate and spraying on a few coats of some heat resistant varnish paint, and now there are no sticking issues.

would you recommend the creality K1 Max or the Anycubic Kobra 3 Max (Moving base plate, no case)?
Which would produce a better output quality? Thanks

Glass sides? Where did you get this printer from? Mine came in a cardboard box and plexiglass sides.

Liked and Subbed. New to 3d printing, how many colors of filament can you print with at 1 time?

I love my Qidi 4 Plus. Big build plate, enclosure, able to print about any filament, and fast. Waiting for the AMS. Bambu never.

I would like to inquire whether Polar Cloud is compatible with this printer.
