K1 XY Rods lubrication ... Creality K1 How To

Update: for those not following my Videos , Please be advised that i do lubricate the X axis after some use i notice it give better results : Light machine oil , or white metal gearse ( just a lil)

I have notices something strange ,
when i was mesuring the X and Y resonance ... i notice that the X rail has some resistance in it compared to the Y axis ...usually its the other way around.

Creality desided to lock-down the X axis and make it unserviceable littraly ... you cant even disassymble it without removing Glue ( where screws were supposed to be use , if you try to remove it you might end up breaking things if not carful .

To achive this , Creality desided to go for heavyduty Graphite Bronz Bush bearings .. ( not as smooth as the Ball bearling ) but they can take some beating, and no need to service them.

NOTE: i could only remove the top-front bushing ... the back one was impossible to even budge it from its place.

Ineresting i did not know this. My K1 however came from factory with grease on the x Axis. Nice video quality tho!

Many sources say to apply light machine oil to graphite plugged bronze bushings to improve lubrication and longevity. Google the search the following: bronze graphite "machine oil". The quotations are important in the search.

Edit: absolutely no grease.

Hi. So your suggestion for X rod is to remove the grease applied from creality and apply machine oil after an accurate cleaning, right? And for Y rod which type of lubrification you suggest? Machine oil or PTFE grease?

Thanks for the great video! I had actually received my K1 recently and put a slight bit of the included grease on the X axis rails; should I do anything else other than clean the X axis rails with isotropic alcohol? Thankfully I found this video only after doing 2 prints!

DO NOT LUBRICATE A SELF LUBRICATING GRAPHITE BEARING EVER. The graphite will get clogged up in the lube and causing dragging. This can overload and if there's enough torque, cause physical damage or premature wear on the motors involved. The graphite itself is the lubricating element.

How to get out the whole gantry? I have made input shaper test and my X axies is way off and prints show vibrations. May you make an "How to get out the whole gantry", so we can check everything is smooth and square.

how did you take the whole gantry off the machine im trying to clean the factory grease from the x axis graphite bushings since the grease seems to damage the bushings can you explain which screws need to be unscrewed in order to take the gantry off

my x axis is very heavy, when removing this graphite bearing it runs freely, and the print head moves freely without it too, but when the bearing is inside it is very heavy to move, it seems that when it is fitted something gets stuck his movement.

Just asking, but k1c is the same right? You don't lube the graphene rod, just clean with a little alcohol and lube the side rods, correct?

hi thanks for good explanatory videos. rattling on x axis reduced much after applying sewing machine oil (mineral based one from singer) but im wondering is 110hz tension is correct for belts. is there any documentation for this ?

Thanks for the video man. How to clean x rods to remove grease delivery by creality ? Alcohol too? Im curious

Mine came with the X axis lubricated from factory, did they mess up?

If I put the provided metal rod lubricant to the X rod by accident, is it enough to wipe it off the rod? Or do I need to disassemble the graphite bearing and clean them thourougly?

Hi. some cases, some lubricants can be used to improve performance or extend life. Generally, PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) based oils or mineral oils can be used as a suitable lubricating material for graphite bushings.

Late last night my K1 Max started this high pitch sound/squeal from around one of the belt pulleys as it would turn.... I'm almost nervous to get any type of grease on the belt. Any suggestions would be great. I lubed the rails around 40 hours of printing, lightly. The sound is from the pulley though I'm almost certain.

I'm having the same problem, wouldn't it be interesting to lubricate with powdered graphite or some graphite-based oil?
