Rogan literally says at the 1:54 mark that he spoke to a fireman who told him this, not him predicting it. Just another reminder to not run with everything you see in social media. Now the ones who didn't watch the video to that point are gonna run with this title and its gonna be "Joe Rogan predicted this" .

And it's not like he's psychic. It was predictable, and obvious. Even the insurance companies saw it coming a mile away, which should have been a major red flag.

As a child I saw a neighbor's home burn to the ground. It is one of the most terrifying things I have ever seen. Prayers to those if CA & all the firefighters🙏🙏🙏

SoCal resident here: Climatologists, meteorologists and weather enthusiasts predicted this for awhile, all the signs were there, warned of devastation many days ahead. Though CA still has plentiful water from heavy rains before the months-long drought, as well as firefighting copters, winds grounded them in the first crucial hours. Where SoCal bureaucracy fails is in damaged ancient water pipes, out-of-date pumps and water system, so the pressure is abysmal. My South Bay coastal town which thankfully never sees wildfires has decayed plumbing where breakages in my apt bldg have spilled waste in the streets, and broken pipes opened sinkholes around LA County. Though I live in an otherwise fairly nice community. It's a problem throughout the region, even in affluent neighborhoods. The state is wealthy yet snarled in red tape so they delay acquiring new equipment and workers to fix things. I worked 26 years in CA public sector. Enough workers are there as well as emergency responders; the state needs to streamline recruiting and hiring.

I'm not a huge JRE fan, but if you saw the original podcast you would understand that he was talking to a la firefighter that mentioned that this was a possibility. So in other words, the state of California knew this was a possibility and basically did not do much of anything to prevent it.

It doesn't take a firefighter to predict this. Lived here my whole life. They don't allow under brush removal without permits. They care more about dead overgrowth than they do property and life.

It’s not prophecy. It’s been an issue for over 40 years.

When I was on tour in California in 2003 there was major wildfires and Bad Religion had released the song Los Angeles is Burning about it. It was on regular radio rotation out on the West Coast.

Then on the 2012 Warped Tour there were more fires while I was out in California. It’s a regular occurrence and was only a matter of time before the winds compounded the spread rates and damage done.

Joe didn’t really predict it. He simply pays attention to the obvious and what people have been predicting regularly for at least the last 15 years.
