2:09 - So that's what I've been doing wrong for all these years! Taking off the lens cap. I always wondered why my images were always under-exposed.

The live view white balance tip was one of the best tips I've come across.

Just commenting on this vid, but I should comment on them all because there all amazing and so informative! To be right there with you on top of the camera. Fantastic! Most pros would never let another photographer into their secrets.
Thanks you for your teachings

Hi Taylor!

I know this video is a bit on the older side, but I hope you or someone in the comments is able to help me out with a question I have. I am new to the Nikon world and just picked up the D850. I noticed that you mentioned that you are shooting as low as 100th of a second on your SS. I know that you like to shoot natural light as much as possible, and as do I. However, won’t shooting that low of a shutter speed create motion blur in the images? Not from people moving, but more so referring to camera shake from your hands.

The D850 has a beast of a sensor with its 46MP making it a bit more difficult to get sharper images at lower shutter speeds (without VR and shooting hand held). Have you experienced unusable images because of those reasons? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you, and have an amazing new year!

Hi Taylor, I love your videos. I wanted to ask why you wouldn’t set your F stop to something like F8 for group shots to make sure you get everyone in focus?

ISO always confuses me... what's the dumbed down definition or method? When do you bring it up?

hello Taylor, in an previous film you were speaking about a shooting in AF-C what makes sense for shooting dynamic. You aswel spoke and correct me if I am wrong your viewfinder focus point is set to single point. Now my question do you have the focus point set to center or have you moved it and locked it more top right/ left so you don't have to recompose when shooting AF-C horizontal and vertical? by forehand thanks for the respons.

Great video! I'm in Manual Mode 75% of the time and Aperture Priority the rest of the time...

so if your aperature is set and you keep your ISO low, you could basically just use Aperature Priority right?

Happy birthday Taylor!!! You worked but hope you had a fabulous rest of your day! Gbu
Quick question I do makeup videos...I shoot in manual mode but on my canon t6i dslr. I want my videos to look hd smooth. My shots seem kinda graty and harsh. Idk if I make any sense.

I don't know Nikon digital now because I switched to Canon once digital became the norm. But I assume that "shade white balance" is just some kind of preset on the Nikon camera and that you are not doing a custom white balance?

Thank you for the video. Just wondering, what is it specifically that would stop you being able to batch edit if you were to instead use aperture priority? Anyone? Feel like I need help on this point as find it quite confusing. Cheers
