The vedas teaches us that in this material universe we( souls imprisoned in this material universe) have been given an opportunity to choose our next life, human body is a great opportunity for the soul to determine its next life because only in human body on this earth the soul has the ability to understand and to differentiate/ discern what is good and what is bad and what is right and what is wrong and this ability and what you do with it is the prerequisite for determining your next life, those souls imprisoned in insect and animal bodies do not have the ability or the capacity to understand fully right from wrong and good from bad and therefore the laws of karma does not apply to them, they are in these bodies because in their past lives they did not take the opportunity that was given to them when they were imprisoned in a body that could understood / discern right from wrong and good from bad like human body does on earth and being bound by the laws of karma in such a body and their leaders that never made them aware of such opportunities they wasted their opportunity and commited wrongs and bad choices which determined their karma for their next life, human body on this planet is a great opportunity and one should not waste it to recognise and comprehend ones faults / sins and to put the effort to attend to it starting by sacrefing your flaws/ faults / sins - especial those that are violating the rights of others- in Judaism this is called teshuva, meaning to turn things around specifically in this case to turn your ignorance and all the negative( not spiritually conducive) propaganda from media and films and culture and traditions that shaped your mindset and values and understanding of things and to put effort to control your lower instincts/ baser self / yetza hara, kabala also teaches us in gates of return / re incarnation / cycle of soul, sha hagilgulim/ gilgul neshamot that a soul is given the opportunity to return in another ( human body ) on this planet to complete/ fulfil its mitzvot to be a better person to improve the quality of your soul, always remember this - you are soul -🤪

From what I read in Michael Newton's book, before you are reborn, you plan with your spirit guide about what kind of life you would like to have so you can have the best environment to learn and experience the things that can lead you to the next spiritual level. Choosing the parents, therefore the physical traits, are one of them.

I mean My son looked like me, but he died way before his time at age 31, and My wife, looked like her mother except for hair color, and she also, even though the sweetest woman, died way before her time from a cancer. I look like a combination of my father and mother, and all I wanted in life was peace and a happy life, to which I had with MY WIFE of 47 years, now I have nothing but money????
