What are the top 3 and lowest 3 states for nurse pay and wage in the US? I go over the average registered nurse salary/wage for different states according to Indeed. I also go over the average home value of the state to get a sense of cost of living in the area.

There's a lot more to consider with choosing a place to live and work as a nurse. But these are just some factors that I find important. The highest wage nurses will tend to be those working in a good and credible acute care hospital and generally in larger city-like areas.

Did any of these wages surprise you? Did any of these home values surprise you? 👀

To be honest being a professional nurse after all these years of study and all the great work they do, I do believe they deserve a minimum of 45 usd an hour across the country!

I laughed my lungs off when you said "If you go in the middle of nowhere like Fresno, Visalia.. Bakersfield". I'm an ED nurse from the Bay Area and even though I earn good, the cost of living is off the roof. When I worked in Bakersfield, I only get paid 40+ bucks/hr with 5 yrs of experience but the cost of living is so low. My rent for my apartment was only <10% of my biweekly net income. But here in the Bay Area even if you earn 100+/hr, the monthly rent is >20% of your biweekly net income. It just sucks and too much taxes. 10+ yrs of being a nurse and I've seen that this career is going a massive downfall. A mass exodus started during the pandemic and still underpaid and overworked. Wages depend on each state and each specific area: Metro? Suburbs? High or low cost of living.

I’m a registered nurse and I think we are under paid for Miami Florida the mean price of a house in decent neighborhood here like a 3/2 house is more then half a million at least 550k. It’s sad I’m a registered nurse for 16 years and that’s what I make in the$ 40’s

And we do so much I sacrifice my life literally and sleep night shift nurse and even our health they need to increase our wages I wish we all in one group could go to ceo I actually got them by myself to change the night differential all by myself from 6 to 10 this year .Everyone was scared to ask so I did it and followed chain of commands all the way up to the Vice President ceo finally she did it when I reached her . But if more of us where bold enough to speak 🗣 in general world wide we can make a change in our pay food for thought
