Do nurses make good money? Nurses work hard to provide great patient care, but do they earn a good salary each year? How much money do nurses make per hour?

🟣Nursing Resume Templates and Job Guide🟣

First, let's talk about the average income for all types of workers in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average worker earned $53c490 in 2019. The average hourly wage was $19.14 per hour.

In this video, I share the average nurse salary and hourly wage so that you can determine whether you think nurses make good money.

I provide the average nurse salary and hourly wage for the following:

-LPN/LVN salary and hourly wage
-RN salary and hourly wage
-Nurse midwife salary and hourly wage
-Nurse practitioner salary and hourly wage
-CRNA (nurse anesthetist) salary and hourly wage
-Clinical nurse specialist salary and hourly wage

I also briefly discuss the basic educational requirements for becoming the different types of nurses.

Overall, I think nurses do make good money. They earn a competitive salary, and have plenty of opportunity for advancement.

I have been a silent subscriber for 2 years now. I just want to tell you thank you so much! Today I just passed my NCLEX RN. Your videos helped me through nursing school and help me study for the boards. Thank you and God bless you and your family.

Truth be told the way you make more money is by not staying in the same place for long periods of time. You move around gain experience then return to the place you like best and you salary will be higher then if you stayed at that same place that entire time and earned small raises every year

If you do agency/contracting or travel nursing you can make WELL over 6 figures! You will make less being staff. Graduated from nursing school in 2017. Started at $28/hr in Maryland. It’s definitely gone up substantially since then !

When we talk about salary it's important how many hours in a month you work. Because someone can say his/her big salary and everybody like: "Wow, cool, you're so successful!" But maybe this person works 6 days in week, 12 hours a day😀

I'm studying to be a nurse, and it can be really annoying when people tell me I won't get paid much. Clearly, RNs get paid a decent amount. "Poor pay" to me means under the average wage, which nurses definitely get paid more than the average wage.

Yes, nurses make decent money. we old hags in Texas make about $60/hr. When you apply for a new job, always remember the posted salary range is a mere suggestion. If you have experience, push for the hourly you want. Hospitals will pay for experience but will also pay you what they want if you'll accept it. Know your worth.

It depends on which state you live. I’ve been working as an LVN here in Bay Area California for only 1.5 yrs and making $38 per hour. The rate is good but you have to consider the cost of living as well. It’s so damn expensive to live here.

I wish I made close to $77k as an RN. Iowa is a lower paid state, but our cost of living is also on the lower end.

Remember that it isn't always entirely about the raw income.

majority of the nursing is at the undergraduate level. these nurses work bedside and in specialty areas like ICU and surgery. For the amount of responsibility, stress and physical labor, I don’t think we’re properly compensated at all.

I’m a nursing student currently, and nursing school online has been hard. I hope to work in med-surg for experience and I believe nursing is not only Our patients are people and they need wholistic care. Empathy and valuing a patient is important and I hope we implement that in nursing.
