Nurses make how much money per year or per hour?! In this YouTube #shorts video, Nurse Sarah reveals the latest salary statistics for the different types of nurses, based on data gathered from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

These nurse salary and hourly wage figures are averages, which means you could make more or less, depending on the state in which you live, industry, experience, and other factors.

Nurses generally earn a competitive salary, and these figures continue to increase each year.

Nurse salaries covered include licensed practical nurses (LPN/LVN salary), registered nurses (RN salary), nurse practitioners (NP salary), nurse midwife salary, and nurse anesthetist salary (CRNAs).

These nursing salary figures are from the United States only.

People don't accept insulting pay. If you do, you're bringing down the value of yourself and the value of nurses.

I’m an LPN & waiting to take my state boards to become an RN. I was making close to 30/hr as an LPN. Then once the pandemic hit, I was offered a covid testing/vaccination job which started LPN’s with $50/hr minimum. To all my LPNs out there, there’s lots of money that you can make as an LPN.

If McDonald's pays people $13-15/hr to get my order right 1/5 times, anyone in health care deserves a lot more than they're currently making

I definitely agree with other comments saying to move around either in specialties or location. I’m not even an RN yet but I am a certified medical coder and in 2018 I was making $25/hr and got sick of hanging around the $20 mark so I switched jobs and landed a remote surgical coding role paying $38/hr…as a medical coder not even an auditor or dual coder (pro-fee and facility coder). Now I’m studying to take my CCS through AHIMA to become a dual coder and auditor and already have spoken to several different recruiters who have jobs offering $40-$45/hr as a dual coder and even more as a dual coding auditor. The money is there for RNs- you just have to be willing to give yourself that raise by leaving where you’re at currently. I plan to do the same exact thing once I become an RN- I plan to do ICU and travel nursing for a few years before applying to the CRNA program.

😳 Lpn here in Massachusetts 15 yrs experience $37.50 per hr night shift in an assisted living. Y'all have to advocate for higher pay. I've worked with nurses with Bsn earning less than$10/ hr than me 😳 i always say move around. My RN friends are making $50-60/hr in hospitals.

Registered nurses deserve at least $100 per hour. lpns/lvns at least $70/hr, CRNA at least $150 per hour

Starting average salary in Richmond for New Grad at any of the hospitals for RN is $28-$30 hr. The LTC facilities are short so they pay about $32 and the overtime is crazy. Most are offering bonus of $200 daily for a shift pickup and add that to your time and a half and the money just “ain’t so bad” lol.

BSN in Austin, Texas. I started as a new grad in a mixed acuity med-surg unit at 27.25/hr base pay with a scheduled raise of $1.50 raise every 6 months for the first 2.5 years. So eventually I'll make 32.25/hr. I love my job but I do feel like the amount of mental and physical stress with the high stakes and liability deserves better compensation. Especially since were now taking 3-5 COVID patients per shift.

The best way to see what hospitals and places are paying is to look at job sites in your area or area you would like to move to. Great video! It gives the national averages, so it will vary. I hope this encourages more people to become nurses. There is a shortage with baby boomers retiring.
