5 yr hospital floor medsurg LPN in Tennessee... $29.04. This sounds horrible, but it's all about location.
I support my 2 kids, husband, and his Mom and Dad (husband's Dad has Parkinson's and dementia. His job is to be home to help his Mom with care. And my kids get to have their grandparents everyday!).
I comfortably support 4 adults and 2 kids on this wage. A week for me is 3- 12 hr+ shifts (all in a row, I prefer it) and classes (going for my RN now).
House and cars are all paid off in full, credit card paid off each month, just got back from a week in PCB in the middle of a 22 day vacation from work!
Hey, yall come on down to Georgia and Tennessee 😅

I am an LPN in New York. I independently contract with multiple agencies so that I have a flexible schedule while I am in school for my ASN RN degree. Depending on the facility and the agency. I make $34-$45/hr. Some facilities pay up to $75 an hour on weekends and/or there are hospitals that pay RNs up to $100/hr.

Hey, great catch! 👩‍🍼

Btw I watch all your content to brush up sometimes or to look into things I don't know about. I've been an RN for about 10 years 🏥👍 Really appreciate you being a great YouTube educator. 🥰

I'm 2 years in working as a Medical Assistant (graduated from an 8 month accelerated program in 2021) in Oregon and make $27.54. Location matters.

It's tough to go back to school and be an NP after COVID. With all the opportunities I made over 220k in 2022 and now make a comfortable $53 an hour or more as an RN. Also most NPs don't get jobs right away and it's oversaturated in Pennsylvania at least. Right now in PA you make more as an RN. Is it financially worth becoming an NP in the future with the cost of school, taking time away from the money you could be making as an RN instead, etc?

In NY I am an LPN making 35 at one job, and 45 an hour at another job . I can make more depending on whether I am hired through agency or contract (some pay up to 75 an hour)
I find the higher paying jobs do not have benefits, union, pension, vacation days or sick days. It really depends on what you are looking for in life .

ASN-RN $78.50 hr. Choose your jobs wisely. Unfortunately, loyalty doesn't pay anymore. Follow the change. (Not traveling)

Many large hosptials pay overtime-like rates after the minimum per diem/PRN obligation/commitment. I have to work 16 hours a month, every hour after that is paid at time and a half plus differential. I also make my schedule and can work any hours; the shifts don't have to be 12s. In an area where a 2-bedroom apartment is about $1, 200/mo, I make 150k working 30 hours a week and haven't set my alarm in 8 months. Basically side-stepped most of the misery of bedside. I'm moving onto the military to become a CRNA next. The Army has a program where your active duty job is to go to CRNA school. Full pay and benefits including retirement accumulation while in school with school 100% paid for.
