I loved this console, the backwards Compatibility was DOPE. The game Library was really good in my opinion. Tons of memories

I dont care if it sold bad, it was the first console I got as a kid, and I still have it to play smash 4 sometimes

The main reason was the marketing. They marketed ii and made it look like an upgrade to the Wii as opposed to an actual whole new system. So the average consumer just assumed it was the same thing and thought they had no reason to buy one. The Wii also had probably some of the most cringe Nintendo marketing so might have also played a factor into it.

I think calling it the Wii 2, even if the name is a bit generic, would have made it more clear that it’s a sequel, as well as ads that targeted older kids and adults a bit more instead of the absolute cringe we got.

I actually still use it, currently playing Assassin's Creed IV and just finished AC III. It's so underrated, I think it's an amazing console

Minecraft for Wii U was first minecraft experience and I remember making hotel entirely out of wood, leaving for one second, coming back, and seeing the thing in flames because I put no lights

i prefere the Wii U to the switch even tho i never had a Wii U myself
Just the friendly atmosphere of the Wii U was crazy, seeing the Mii everywhere when you turned the console was crazy...The whole community with Nintendo sharing event on the games and talking on Miiverse...
Now on the Switch its just pitch black with the game icons without any personnality, the Miis are gone, no music...

funny enough, the first problem was definitely a huge one, because I, a dedicated Nintendo fan only found out recently that it wasnt a deluxe version

Captain Toad for 3DS came out just way after was released on Wii U

Bro, The Wii U brought Minecraft back to me, It gave me Splatoon, It gave me many memories, It was the biggest Nintendo console I owned ( Aside from getting the Switch a couple years later and my DS's I owned. ) So this console was a big W for me.

You know that a lot of the Wii U games came to the 3DS, after the Switch released, right? And the Wii U was discontinued a couple months before the Nintendo Switch released, so no sales loss because of the 3DS ports.
