Hope you guys enjoy the benchmarks. Tim and I just got on the plane, so we'll be in the air soon and on the way to Taiwan.

When AMD gets a bios update: "Aww yeah, new agesa code and better memory performance"
When Intel gets one: "Aww shit here we go again"

Intels cunning plan to fix Hyper-Threading! : Disable Hyper-Threading.

Pouring one out for anyone stuck on a G4560

Steve, it's been two full days since your Radeon VII performance analysis. A lot has changed since then. Care to give it a retest?

And btw, disabling hyper threading does not guarantee you will avoid the exploits.

JayzTwoCents test of this was useless. He said disabling Hyperthreading hardly impacts performance at all... (in gaming) but of course he tested it on a 5Ghz 9900k... (EDIT, I checked again and he actually did use an 8700k, it just happened to show a 9900k in the part of the video I checked, but he didn't test any 4 core/8 thread CPUs)

I guess Intel truly show us how does value diminish as time goes.

Intel after watching Far Cry New Dawn benchmark:
"See, we gave you extra performance for free, aren't you happy?" xD

Intel has rewarded us with vulnerabilities and also at the same time doubling the price. My next cpu will definitely be AMD

Finally. I comprehensive test. I was disappointed by Jayz's testing because it didn't seem like a thorough assessment, nor realistic. Thanks guys!

Anyone want a bet that the new BIOS's will suddenly become available once AMD's review embargo on Zen 2 is lifted?

So basically my 8700k will become 7700k or will not suffer much at all in some instances and those with 7700k and older Intel CPUs are f*cked.

Given how things develop with Intel CPUs - my next cpu will be from AMD

Zombieload almost sounds like the Intel's plan for last few years and couple of more years to come, Zombiemode :)

As long as my 3770k can last me til the end of the year I'll be fine.
I start full time and will probably build a Ryzen 3000 system this fall.

I think 7th gen intel laptops will suffer the most. This is actually raising the question of these laptops are basically being defective products in my opinion. They won't be able to perform on par with their officialy specs, especally right now that they can only be used safely without hyper-threading.

Not quite 'AMD fine wine' more like an opened carton of UHT milk... How long was this security issue known by Intel and was it utilised in the past?

Just in time for Zen 2 v Intel latest exploit ridden CPUs

16% losses (singlecore?) prior to Zombieland...with Sp+Mdown.. Indefinitely Wow

The latest updates tanked Core 2 quad and early/weaker core architecture chips. One of my PC's seems to not have an SSD now
