I got into blacksmithing as a hobby about 40 years ago. Now that i retired i focus on knife making, just as a hobby. Its great fun searching for interesting handle materials, old steel with an interesting back story, and of course interesting knife designs. I love watching other people do their thing, for ideas and just to appreciate skills and creativity. My favorite knife so far is one i made my son from a meteorite.

That's a spectacular blade. It caught my eye beof it's blade shape. The aligning of the handle to the tip is exceptional.

I like how this knife is small and handy! Usually blacksmiths make them super bulky and heavy, which just make them unpractical for actual use

There are stories about old train rail being turned into double edged razor blades. I imagine it hardened up much nicer than most re used steels
